A Department of Homeland Security official and spokesperson for the Trump administration's campaign to arrest "predators" and "restore law and order" was accused of sexually assaulting a teenage classmate in the past.
Micah Bock, DHS deputy assistant secretary, releases weekly videos praising and promoting DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and President Donald Trump for their efforts to hunt down “predators [who] threaten American streets," The Daily Beast reports.
Bock in 2016 was accused by a fellow college student of non-consensual physical contact. The student, whose name was not released, said she woke up and found the freshman “curved around her like a spoon” and could feel that he was sexually aroused.
The alleged victim, who now works as a legislative assistant in the House of Representatives, said he texted her after and said: “You definitely weren’t really asleep. You wanted it.”
The complainant attended conservative, small Christian school Patrick Henry College in northern Virginia with Bock and Madison Cawthorn, who is one of Bock's best friends and later became a congressman endorsed by Trump.
Cawthorn has also been accused of sexual assault by several women. He has denied these claims. Cawthorn's career came to an end when a number of suggestive videos leaked, including one where he thrust his naked body on a male friend.
Bock has also denied these allegations and told Buzzfeed in 2021 that these claims were “completely untrue.” He also denied further requests from Buzzfeed and multiple requests to comment this week from the Beast.
Instead of his own response, Bock's boss, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, shared a letter sent to Bock from the college.
In the letter written by PHC president Jack Haye, it says:
“The resurfacing of these allegations caused me to request a thorough review of PHC’s records and to consult with PHC administrators and staff to whom any violations of campus policies during your tenure at PHC should have been reported."
"Following this review, I can confirm that no records or other information in the possession of PHC substantiates or corroborates the claims in BuzzFeed News made by this former classmate and no other student has ever made any report concerning you in relation to the alleged incident reported in BuzzFeed News.”
The alleged victim's mother did confront Bock.
“PHC does maintain records of an incident in the spring of 2019, when the mother of the classmate in question physically assaulted you in the lounge and foyer of the Red Hill dormitory," according to the letter.
“These actions were observed by at least one student, promptly reported to the PHC administration, and investigated by campus security. This situation was resolved by the mother leaving campus and her name and license plate information listed with campus security with instructions to notify the Chief of Security should she return to campus."
“Earlier that day, this individual met with PHC staff on a completely different topic. During that meeting she did not make any allegations concerning you or your conduct.”
Bock allegedly told victim's mother that “it had all been a misunderstanding.”
