BRUNSWICK, Ohio — The Brunswick Police Department has provided additional information about the man who died following a reported disturbance at a BP station in Brunswick last week , leading to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation being called in for assistance.

According to a police report, the man has been identified as Jacob Derkin.

"The Brunswick Division of Police, with the assistance of Brunswick Hills Police, responded to 15 Pearl Road (BP Gas Station) for a report of a disturbance," police officials wrote in describing the events of Sept. 18. "Officers arrested the male and the Brunswick Division of Fire transported him to Brunswick Cleveland Clinic where he was later pronounced deceased. The Bureau of Criminal Investigation was contacted to assist."
