WASHINGTON — Amazon MGM Studios has officially announced the cast for its long-awaited with original stars Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, Daphne Zuniga and George Wyner all set to return.
Joining them in new roles are Josh Gad, Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman and Anthony Carrigan.
The studio announced Thursday that the film is now officially in production and will hit theaters in 2027.
The original “Spaceballs” starred Pullman as Lone Star, Zuniga as Princess Vespa, and Moranis as the Darth Vader inspired character Dark Helmet, alongside Brooks in multiple roles. The new cast is expected to introduce a next generation of characters, although their exact roles are being kept under wraps.
