LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — With new laws forthcoming regarding e-bikes, officials from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department addressed the changes, specifications regarding which vehicles can do what, and the importance of proper licensing, equipment and compliance with safety laws.

LVMPD officials shared a flowchart that categorizes each vehicle into a group based on its characteristics.

E-Bicycles

E-Bicycles have no more than 750 watts of power and a maximum speed of 28 miles per hour. Minors must wear a helmet while riding an e-bike.

Moped
