LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — The sentencing of a woman accused of killing an Arizona mother on the Las Vegas Strip in 2015 has been postponed.
On Sept. 25 at 9 a.m., Lakeisha Holloway was set to be sentenced. During an appearance, Halloway expressed her concern about her attorney. Her attorney has since withdrawn from the case. Her next court appearance is set for Oct. 9.
Prosecutors say Lakeisha Holloway plowed into a crowd of people just days before Christmas 2015. Jessica Valenzuela was killed, and at least 35 others were hurt.
Holloway was originally set to go on trial facing 71 charges, but ended up pleading guilty to second-degree murder and battery with a deadly weapon.
