The Lyon County Commission signed two resolutions in support of a grant and tax credit application for the 502 Lofts project on Neosho Street.
The first application is for the Moderate Income Housing (MIH) Grant program. They will be requesting $350,000 in grant funding to offset some of the costs of construction. To qualify for MIH, the building must verify the income of tenants to ensure that they are housing those who are making the county's median income.
The second application is for the Kansas Housing Investor Tax Credit (KHITC) program. They will be requesting $128,000 in tax credits, equivalent to $32,000 per door.
