BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — Traffic patterns in one of Brooklyn's busiest corridors will forever change with brand new bus lanes.
Before that happens, though, those lanes need to be installed. With installation comes construction, and with construction comes traffic.
The Department of Transportation announced on Thursday that the approved redesign of Flatbush Avenue is set to begin this week.
The center bus lanes will run from Livingston Street to Grand Army Plaza.

The start of the Flatbush Avenue bus priority project is weather-dependent, but is scheduled to begin this week, a spokesperson of the DOT told PIX11 News. Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez said the entirety of the project will be completed in 2026.
