San Mateo County sheriff's officials Thursday morning reported law enforcement activity along Highway 1 near Pacifica.

The sheriff's office described on social media a "large law enforcement presence" near Gray Whale Cove State Beach, just south of the Tom Lantos Tunnels.

The public was asked to avoid the area.
