A 32-year-old man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of attempted murder and robbery after he allegedly beat a 65-year-old man with a brick and left him bleeding on a mattress.

On Sep. 23, shortly before 5 a.m., District 6 patrol officers responded to a bus stop at Kuhio and Paoakalani avenues and found the 65-year-old man lying on a mattress, bleeding from his head.

“A brick was found nearby and is believed to have been used in the assault. The male victim was treated and transported to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition,” read a statement from the Honolulu Police Department.
