The Freestone Legacy Walking Park welcomes walkers throughout the entire year and thanks to a local grant, the park has received some sprucing up. A partnership between the Vernal Rotary Club and Vernal City made it possible to replace dead trees at the Walking Park. “Vernal City reached out to the club via our mini grant process, asking for help with the trees at the Freestone Walking Park,” shares Vernal Rotary President Shannon Reyes. “There are 17 dead trees that need extraction and we helped them with 14 to be replaced.” Reyes also noted that Vernal City has a new watering system that was put into place to help with watering and prevent the problem in the future.
