It has been a long time coming, but Powderhorn Mountain Resort is moving forward with a plan to replace its aging West End lift with a high speed detachable quad lift.

The lift, which is being renamed the Wild West Express, is expected to open in December of 2026 at the start of the resort’s 60th anniversary season.

General Manager of Powderhorn Mountain Resort Ryan Schramm said replacement of the lift has been discussed for years, but it became a top priority after Utah-based Pacific Group Resorts purchased the mountain in February.
