ROCKFORD, Ill. — A downtown Rockford park is about to get exciting upgrades.
Rockford Public Works announced on Thursday that the Davis Park Improvement project will start construction on Sept. 30. The project includes site improvements and new building installations.
The project will improve the area by building a custom playground, skatepark, concession stand, public restroom building, and a stage with a greenroom.
Other project components include seawall repair, riverwalk adjustments, pedestrian path improvements, and grading and landscaping work.
The Davis Park Improvement project is funded by City funds and State grants. It is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2026.
