Another Maple Leafs pre-season game, another look for Easton Cowan.

Against the Canadiens in Montreal on Thursday night, Cowan will become the only Leafs player to skate in all three exhibitions to date.

What can we read into this?

Well, the 20-year-old is going to get a second game on a line with centre Scott Laughton and Steve Lorentz. As long as Cowan’s play doesn’t tail off — and there have been no indications that it will — it’s looking more and more like he will be a safe bet to earn a spot in the opening-night lineup.

Berube was asked what Cowan has to do to make the Leafs out of camp.
