Morning glories, ( Ipomea spp. ) are a fabulous easy-to-grow addition to any flower garden. They produce prodigious amounts of flowers as well as attractive foliage on their tall vines. Morning glories are not as popular as many other annual flowers. Maybe it’s because they require something to climb on, or perhaps it’s because their flowers bloom in the morning, then fade in the afternoon.
There are other vining plants that are closely related to morning glories, including sweet potatoes ( Ipomea batatas ) and cypress vine (Ipom ea quamoclit ), another decorative climbing vine.
Morning glory vines grow fast, up to 15 feet tall during the growing season, but they don’t bloom until later in the season, around the end of August. There are varieties that take even longer to bloom, not
