CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Hamilton County Department of Reentry held the “Building Bridges Disrupting the Pipeline to Prison for Our Youth” conference, where they discussed recidivism among at-risk youth and how to support them toward a positive path.

Multiple speakers attended the event, including Chef Jeff Henderson, who spoke about his time while incarcerated as a teenager and how he changed his life and eventually became a world-renowned chef.

He stated that he learned skills that have helped him stay on the right path.

“Guys and gals in the prison system getting their CDL license, air conditioning, refrigeration, welding, many of the vast industries inside the prison system gives guys and gals the opportunity to embrace the second chance and be productive in the workforce,” Chef Hend
