WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Trump said Thursday in an Oval Office press conference with the president of Turkey that he plans to direct some of the money raised from tariffs to American farmers struggling with their impacts.

American farmers have been hit particularly hard by the effects of the president's tariff policies. Products such as apples, cherries and hay—widely grown in the Pacific Northwest—have struggled on the international market.
