MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — Two people are in the hospital after being found shot in the far East Valley early Thursday morning.

Deputies with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) first responded to a reported crash around 2 a.m. at 85th Street and Boise Drive in east Mesa.

When they got to the scene of the crash, deputies found a person who had been shot, and the person was taken to the hospital. Just a short time later, another shooting victim was dropped off at a nearby hospital. It’s unknown who dropped that person off.

Both shooting victims are still being treated, and their conditions were not given.

Detectives are still investigating the crash and how the two people were shot.
