GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, AZ (AZFamily) — The National Park Service announced on Thursday that selected areas of the northern rim of the Grand Canyon will reopen to the public beginning next month, a significant development after the Dragon Bravo Fire ravaged through the region in early July.
According to park officials, the partial reopening, slated for Oct. 1, will include Highway 67 to the W1 road at mile marker 11 as well as Cape Royal Road, which means access will be available to both Point Imperial and Cape Royal.
Additionally, Grand Canyon officials announced that Fire Point and Swamp Ridge will reopen. All of these areas will be open daily from sunrise to sunset. Overnight access will be limited to Swamp Point and Fire Point, NPS said.
