CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Cleveland man on Wednesday admitted to kidnapping a woman from a bus stop and attacking her with a boxcutter in April.
Rayshon Reese, 50, pleaded guilty to kidnapping and attempted murder, both first-degree felonies. He could face decades in prison when Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge David Matia sentences him Oct. 16.
In exchange for Reese’s plea, county prosecutors agreed to drop sentencing enhancements that would have classified him as a repeat violent offender, records show.
Reese initially denied the charges at his arraignment in April. A judge ordered him to remain in jail on a $500,000 bond and assigned defense attorney Brian Radigan to the case.
