AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Richmond County deputies are stepping up security for Friday night football games following a string of recent shootings involving local youth.

The first incident occurred on Tuesday at Augusta Mall, where 17-year-old Devon McClain was shot and killed. Deputies arrested 16-year-old Tyric Logan at the mall in connection with McClain’s death.

Just hours later, an apparent retaliation shooting took place at a home on Druid Park Avenue. Authorities arrested McClain’s 14-year-old brother, Tian’trez Freeman, along with 15-year-old Rydeek Bailey.
