NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – A Newark elementary school was temporarily on lockdown after a man allegedly made threatening remarks to children outside the school on Thursday, according to the Newark Public Safety director.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 1:51 p.m. outside Munoz Marin Elementary School, located at 633 Broadway, officials said.
A male parent was threatening to harm his own children, who are students at the school, authorities said.
The man was detained by police as part of their investigation.
No injuries were reported, authorities said.
