BOISE, Idaho — President Donald Trump on Monday promoted unproven links between autism and Tylenol usage during pregnancy. However, many doctors and other medical experts refute the claims.
Standing alongside Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Medicaid administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, the president was seen claiming acetaminophen — also known by the brand name Tylenol — was responsible for the increase in autism diagnoses in American children, and telling pregnant women – no fewer than 15 times in an hour – not to take it or not to give it to their baby.
Since the comments at the White House, the maker of Tylenol refuted Trump's claim, saying studies confirm no credible evidence exists or links the pain reliever to autism.
