BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) has announced a new partnership with Equal Access Birmingham (EAB) to help eliminate “transportation insecurity” to healthcare access across the area.
Authorities say a donation of 750 busses from MAX Transit, that is operated by BJCTA, will help launch the Equal Access Birmingham Transportation Initiative to become the first of its kind to directly support uninsured, underinsured, and unhoused patients in the greater Birmingham area.
BJCTA Executive Director and CEO Charlotte Shaw says they are honored to be involved in the new initiative.
