Athletes at Mascenic Regional and Hinsdale high won’t play against each other for the rest of the 2025-2026 school year after an “unwarranted and deeply unwelcome” comment was allegedly directed at a Mascenic family during a Sept. 10 boys soccer match between the two longtime Division IV rivals.
In a letter to the Mascenic Regional High School community dated Sept. 24, Mascenic Regional Superintendent Liz Pogorzelski wrote that after “careful consideration, meaningful dialogue, and ongoing reflection,” the district has made the decision to remove Hinsdale from its athletic schedules for the rest of the academic year.
