James Woodlock, accused of assisting other Youth Development Center staffers in beating and raping a teenage boy in the 1990s, took the stand in his own defense at trial on Thursday.

Woodlock, 60, faces three charges of being an accomplice to aggravated felonious sexual assaults that allegedly took place between Oct. 30, 1997, and Sept. 12, 1998. The acts were allegedly committed by former co-workers Jeffrey Buskey and Stephen Murphy, who also face sexual assault charges, according to indictments.

The prosecution requested its case after three days of testimony.

Woodlock’s lawyer, Richard Guerriero, called Woodlock to the stand, where he denied helping Buskey and Murphy with any assault and said he would have put a stop to it and reported the abuse.
