Legislative leaders said a $35 million, 409-space legislative parking garage project being built kitty-corner to the State House remains on schedule with completion expected by mid-March next year.
In recent weeks, main contractor PC Construction has used a high-altitude crane to lift and stack separate floors of the structure as it seeks to complete much of the exterior work before the arrival of a hard frost.
“We’ve had a very ambitious construction schedule for this but I’m happy to say that thanks to a lot of collaboration, it is right on target,” said Terry Pfaff, the Legislature’s chief operating officer.
In 2023, lawmakers approved legislation ( HB 384 ) to use $25 million of state budget surplus to provide the last remaining money needed to build the parking garage on the site
