LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The critically injured victim in an ongoing Lexington shooting investigation was identified on Thursday, with one man arrested and authorities searching for a second suspect.

On Thursday, Mayor Linda Gorton announced that she spoke to the mother of Stephon Vanzant, offering prayers for his recovery.

"Mr. Vanzant had been working as a laborer for the city’s Division of Waste Management since August," Mayor Gorton wrote, saying he'd been severely injured in a Sept. 18 shooting on Winburn Drive.

Just before 11:10 a.m. on Sept. 18, first responders were called after shots were fired in the area of Winburn Drive and McCullough Drive.
