FARGO — Anchorman Justin Betti has exited Valley News Live, slightly earlier than expected.
One thing is clear after a quick phone conversation Thursday afternoon: Everything is fine.
It's a phrase he used multiple times and the context was that there were no fireworks, drama or ill will when the television station's general manager Ike Walker told him last week he was finished.
"I've enjoyed working there. I've enjoyed being an anchor. I still have friends there. It's fine," Betti said from northeastern Pennsylvania, where he is spending time with his wife and their two children while awaiting a family wedding this weekend.
The end was completely expected. VNL told Betti in June that it was going to not pick up the option for a fifth year of contract he signed in December 2021. Stat
