LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Churchill Downs is honoring organizations that take care of retired racehorses.
The racetrack is hosting Thoroughbred Aftercare Day on Saturday, September 27.
Nine aftercare organizations will be at the event to showcase more about the re-homing and re-training process.
You can also meet and feed Golden Strike, a mare who was bred from Derby 148 winner Rich Strike.
Saturday’s 11-race program begins at 12:45 p.m., with gates opening at 11:30 a.m.
