LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A jury reached a verdict in the case of a man accused of killing a Louisville construction worker and shooting an off-duty LMPD officer in the face in 2021.
Keyshaun Stewart was found guilty but mentally ill on murder, criminal intent to murder, wanton endangerment and fleeing or evading police.
Stewart’s defense argued he was failed by mental health providers across the area.
The prosecution, on the other hand, says it’s been proven he knew what he was doing.
The jury will return to the courtroom to make its sentence recommendations tomorrow morning at 10.
