A 25-year-old man used an ax to bust through a bedroom door “to get at” his father before repeatedly punching his dad and fighting responding officers, police said.

Sean Heitzman, of East Donegal Township in Lancaster County, was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief, according to documents filed by Susquehanna Regional police.

The dad told police Heitzman used the ax to destroy a locked door he was behind, causing “fear of serious bodily injury.”

Heitzman then punched his dad 10 to 15 times in the face, leaving a cut on his face and lump above his left eye, according to an affidavit of probable cause written by police.
