SURRY COUNTY, Va. — The Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office arrested a man who allegedly made death threats to a state delegate on Thursday.

Thursday afternoon, Del. Kim Taylor (R-District 82) posted to her Facebook page that someone had sent her campaign a "politically motivated death threat" through text message.

"Our campaign takes every threat seriously and this was no exception," her post read.

The Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office said they were able to determine a suspect after speaking with Taylor's campaign manager about the message. By 2:15 p.m., the sheriff's office was able to arrest Michael Ray Strawmyer, 33, of DeWitt, Virginia in Dinwiddie County.
