BOSTON, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Shriners Children’s said Wednesday that a social media trend is causing severe burns in children.

Shriners said kids are recreating moments from the Netflix movie “KPop Demon Hunters.” Viral videos hashtags like #KPopNoodleChallenge and #DemonHuntersRamen reportedly show kids Korean instant noodles called “tippy soups.” The containers are tall, narrow, and microwavable, so they’re easily spilling onto kids when they take them out of the microwave, which could lead to severe burns.
