Following a three-week lull in the Atlantic hurricane season, a flurry of activity has kicked off the closeout of the month of September.
This includes Gabrielle in the central Atlantic, Humberto in the southwest Atlantic and Invest 94L near Hispaniola.
The invest area is a tropical wave, just north of the Dominican Republic, that continues to show signs of organization.
A tropical depression is likely to form sometime Friday.
While Thursday’s models trended towards a U.S. landfall early next week, this is far from certain.
Confidence will increase if this trend continues in tandem with the system’s genesis over the southeast Bahamas in the next day or two.
Just where the entity tracks, whether a tropical depression or a storm, will determine the impacts across the Southeast coastlin
