Seneca Falls, N.Y. — An out-of-state man has been charged with raping a 12-year-old girl after luring her from her Onondaga County home and taking her to a Seneca Falls hotel, police said.

Brandon T. Szyszkiewicz, 26, of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, groomed the girl online before persuading her to leave her home on Sept. 12, according to a Seneca Falls Police Department news release.

Officers later found him leaving a Seneca Falls hotel with the child. She was taken by officers and reunited with her family, police said.

Szyszkiewicz was first held at the Onondaga County Justice Center on other charges, including custodial interference, endangering the welfare of a child, luring a child and possession of obscene sexual material.
