SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Spokane Valley City Council is considering a proposal to construct a new $44 million ice rink.
The city says Innovia Foundation, representing a local benefactor, gave a presentation to councilmembers at their Sept. 23 meeting to propose the construction of a 65,000-square-foot facility that would feature two NHL-sized ice sheets.
The arena would include a proposed 500-700 seating capacity, locker rooms, skate rentals, and would provide things like youth and adult hockey programs and public skating.
The city says the $44 million to fund the proposed project would be provided by the local benefactor and the rink would be developed on city-owned property.
