Former FBI director James Comey, who was fired months into Trump’s first administration, has long been a top target for Trump supporters seeking retribution.

James Comey was charged Thursday with making a false statement and obstruction in a criminal case filed days after U.S. President Donald Trump appeared to urge his attorney-general to prosecute the former FBI director and other perceived political enemies.
