GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- Leo, a shop cat who lives at a hardware store in Glastonbury, has been found and returned ten days after he went missing from the store.

On Monday, Sept. 15, Katz ACE Hardware posted on its Facebook page saying that Leo was mistakenly picked up by a Glastonbury Police officer and escaped while he was being taken to the town's animal shelter.

The initial Facebook post was shared 113 times as of Thursday, and a subsequent post on Monday was shared 90 times.

Leo was found on Thursday evening in the Meadow Hill area after a group of volunteers gathered to search the area for him.

"We are so thankful to everyone coming together to bring him home," Bob Krieger, the owner of the store, said Thursday.
