NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Members of Local 35, the union representing service and maintenance staff at Yale University in New Haven, rallied on Thursday for better pay and working conditions.
Bob Proto, president of the union, said that they have begun contract negotiations with the university and that the union expects to hold other events like Thursday's in the near future.
“Our members are committed to settling a fair contract, supporting post-docs as they form their union, and standing with New Haven urging Yale to pay their fair share," said Proto in a statement.
News 8 reached out to Yale, which said it looks forward to a "positive and productive process that results in a fair contract."
