This week's Blue Federal Credit Union Athlete of the Week award is headed back to the flag football field.
Poudre School District's Jordyn Peterson took top honors in the Fort Collins area for the week of Sept. 15-20 after leading her team past a previously-unbeaten team.
Peterson had three catches for 102 yards (the first 100-yard receiving game in PSD's young program history) and two touchdowns, including a 53-yard TD.
And those two scoring catches were both very necessary in the 12-7 win over Legacy, which had entered the game with an 8-0 record. Peterson scored all 12 of the Stars' points in the win.
It was a breakout performance for the freshman, who had three catches for 39 yards and one touchdown before shredding the Lightning defense.
