MARSHVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- US 74 was closed down in eastern Union County Thursday morning.

NC Department of Transportation officials say downed power lines in Marshville forced a closure that lasted more than four hours. Crews had to clear the power lines and a utility pole along the primary highway through Union County.

The road reopened early Thursday afternoon.
