NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police say they detained a youth following a disturbance reported at a pharmacy.

Police said the boy, whose name was not released because of his age, faces charges of third-degree assault and breach of peace.

Officers responded around 1:32 p.m. to CVS on Ashley Phosphate Road for the disturbance that reportedly involved a youth who was armed.

After a brief struggle, police detained the boy.

No weapon was located, and no injuries were reported.

The juvenile was released to a parent.

Videos of the incident have been shared online, and police are reviewing body-worn camera footage.
