WASHINGTON — On Friday, Montgomery County Police were called to Blake High School at 9 p.m., for reports of multiple fights following a football game.

According to MCPD, officers were already on the scene working the football game. They saw several groups of teens fighting near the tennis courts and parking lot. Montgomery County Public Schools security tried to break up the fights, but the students reportedly ignored commands.

After failed attempts at breaking up the fight, police used a pepper ball launcher to de-escalate the fight. The launcher did not have any ammunition or pepper; it just deploys "air pops."

After the fights, Montgomery County Public Schools issued a statement about the incident and police presence.
