A Qantas flight has been forced to make an emergency landing in New Zealand over fears of a fire on board the aircraft.
The flight, which was travelling from Sydney, landed at Auckland Airport shortly after 12pm on Friday, local time.
Sky News Australia understands the pilot had concerns there could have been a fire in the cargo hold of the aircraft.
A spokesperson for Auckland Airport said passengers were able to leave the aircraft safely once the aircraft landed.
"We can confirm Auckland Airport emergency services were on standby earlier this morning for an inbound aircraft which had reported issues," a spokesperson told Sky News.
"The aircraft has now landed safely. "
This is a developing news story. More to come.
