San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh claims that Liam Coen and the Jacksonville Jaguars are using a compelling sign-stealing system, but there’s a twist on this one: It’s completely within the rules.
Saleh and the 3-0 49ers will host the 2-1 Jaguars at Levi’s Stadium this Sunday (4:05 p.m. EST) in what should be a fascinating chess match between two of the game’s most brilliant play-callers.
Robert Saleh’s 49ers are allowing just 16.3 points per game (third-best in the NFL), while Coen’s Jaguars are looking to find a rhythm on offense amid slow starts from Trevor Lawrence, Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter. Coen landed the Jags’ HC position after a superb one-year stint as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator.
