CLEVELAND, Ohio – Firefighters do not suspect foul play in the North Olmsted apartment fire that displaced 64 families, a top official said Thursday.

Crews from North Olmsted and several other agencies responded Sunday to the blaze at Westbury Apartments. The high-rise is at Brookpark Road and Great Northern Boulevard.

The fire injured two residents, said North Olmsted Fire Chief Edward Schepp.

It’s unclear what started the blaze, but Schepp said, “We have no reason to believe foul play was involved.” Officials do not have an estimate of damage.

Jessica Jordan told WKYC, a news partner of cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer, that she was inside her fifth-floor unit Sunday afternoon when she smelled smoke.
