LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A Nevada state senator has confirmed the start of construction for a new community being built for residents of a sinking North Las Vegas neighborhood.

The lot is at Carey and West avenues in North Las Vegas. FOX5 has followed the progress of the new community being built. As of Thursday, there is no visible movement on the land. However, construction equipment has arrived along with a big sign titled “New Windsor Park.”

Senator Dina Neal has been fighting for years to help the homeowners get new homes built with government funding. She says a deadline was met on millions of funds last week, and construction should start Monday.
