From about 15 yards outside the penalty area, the Bemidji High School boys soccer senior defender took a free kick and lobbed it into the top-right corner over Sartell goalkeeper Owen Woodruff’s hands to give the Jacks a one-goal lead.
It ended up being the difference in a 1-0 triumph at Bemidji Middle School.
“I mean, (my teammates) are doing all of the hard work – they’re getting all of the fouls,” Morin said. “I just try to do my part and get it in play. It’s something we work on in practice quite a bit.”
Morin has grown accustomed to converting on long-range set-piece chances.
