SALT LAKE CITY — Firefighters responded to a house fire in Hurricane Wednesday night.

According to a press release, the Hurricane Valley Fire District and Hurricane City Police Department responded to the fire at approximately 10:39 p.m. It took place at a house on Martin St.

The press release states that upon their arrival, fire crews were greeted with “heavy black smoke coming from an open garage door.” Crews focused on the garage, containing it quickly.

No injuries were reported and damage was mostly contained within the garage. HVFD said the cause of the fire was determined to be an overloaded outlet.
