NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Nashville needs to add more than 90,000 new housing units in the next decade to keep up with demand, but the way it reaches that goal is stirring up conversation.
A new measure working its way through Metro Council would create two new zoning codes in the city aimed at promoting more diverse housing, both in type of developments and price points.

The two new categories, Residential Neighborhood and Residential Limited, open the door for flex-homes, townhomes, and cottage courts to be built in areas to create more “middle housing” that is higher density and more affordable.
